The Chairman of the Examinations and Education Committee is ex officio a member of the Board. The Chairman of the IMC Panel is ex officio a member of the Examinations and Education Committee.
Minutes of meetings of the Examinations and Education Committee should be included for noting on the agenda for Board meetings.
To review all policy issues relating to exams and education, proposing any necessary changes to the Board.
To oversee the work of the IMC Panel and the CFA Support Committee in particular to note all minutes of meetings of the IMC Panel and to respond formally to concerns raised by the IMC Panel.
To ensure that the examinations offered by the Society remain relevant and up to date.
To identify potential new examination opportunities, making proposals to the Board.
To develop the Society’s response to consultation papers and other documents relating to exams and education received by the Society from regulatory, educational and other bodies, including the Financial Services Authority and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
To oversee the development and administration of new examinations to be offered by the Society.
To liaise on examination and educational issues with other relevant professional and trade associations including the Association for Investment Management & Research, the Skills Council for Financial Services, the Investment Management Association.
In common with CFA UK as a body, to ensure that its activities and recommendations underpin the Society’s high standards of ethics and professional conduct.
To report activities to the Board as required (and annually within CFA UK's Annual Report).
