Regular Membership
To become a Regular Member you will need to apply directly to the CFA Institute.
As an applicant seeking Regular Membership you must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution or have equivalent education or work experience;
- Have attained 48 months of Acceptable Professional Work Experience;
- Have passed Level I of the CFA® Program or other such appropriate examination approved by the CFA Institute Board of Governors, or have passed the Self-Administered Standards of Practice Examination;
- Sign and submit to CFA Institute a Member’s Agreement and a Professional Conduct Statement;
- Complete any additional application procedures or requirements established by CFA Institute.
How to apply
To become a Regular Member of CFA UK, you need to be sponsored by your supervisor and an existing member of CFA UK holding either the CFA or the ASIP/FSIP designation and to become a member of the CFA Institute.

Copies of the application and sponsorship forms for Regular membership may be downloaded from the CFA Institute website from
the same address. Please contact CFA UK if you do not know an existing
member who can sponsor you and we will arrange for a member of the Membership
Committee to act as your sponsor.
