What does the IMC Syllabus cover?

The IMC is made up of two units, Unit 1 - UK Regulation & Markets and Unit 2 - Investment Practice, covering the following eight topic areas:

2007 saw a complete review of the IMC Syllabus, with a revised syllabus that went live on 1st December. Candidates taking the examination after this date will be tested on the new syllabus, and must ensure that the syllabus and study materials they are using relate to the new syllabus.

Candidates may find it useful to closely compare both the old and new versions of the syllabus, to familiarise themselves with the changes. Unit 1 has been updated extensively, whereas the changes to Unit 2 are less significant.

In addition, the IMC syllabus will be reviewed again in 2008, with a new syllabus going live on 1 December 2008. Candidates purchasing study materials are advised to consider this when scheduling their exam.
