Institutional Research
CFA UK aims to support the students at each of the UK Program Partner institutions listed below.
Program Partners are academic institutions who commit to covering a significant portion of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge, including the ethical and professional standards, in their degree programs. These universities must be willing to serve as role models to other institutions and must be recognised as leaders.
Global Investment Research Challenge
CFA Society of the UK hosts the UK heats of the annual CFA Institute Global Investment Research Challenge.
The Challenge gathers students, investment industry professionals, publicly traded companies, and corporate sponsors together locally, regionally, and globally for a real world competition. It promotes best practices in equity research and company
analysis, asking students to research, analyse, and report on a company as if
they are practicing analysts.
Competitors
Teams are made up of 3-5 business and finance
students from the academic institutions listed above. These teams interview a subjecy company, and are then tasked with writing an equity report about the company. Their reports are evaluated by industry practitioners and the teams with the best reports are invited to present their arguments to a Panel of Experts.
The winners of the UK heats compete in a the EMEA regional competition, leading to a global final against the regional winners from all over the world.
