Match with a mentor or mentee and create a career relationship that lasts for life.
Building your career is harder on your own. Mentors give CFA UK members the expertise and advice to take your career forward. As volunteers, our mentors give back their knowledge to the next generation. But mentoring means more than that - it's a relationship that helps you grow with each other.
It’s not always easy to share your ambitions and challenges with your colleagues. But mentoring means you have someone to talk to that you can trust. Mentees get impartial insight from their mentors to help them make more informed career decisions. Mentors support new voices entering the industry and share their experiences to help them succeed.
Your relationship will last initially for six months. But if you enjoy each other’s company, it can go on for as long as you want!
Our mentors volunteer their time to share their knowledge with others. By becoming a mentor, you’ll be matched with a mentee based on their aims and experience. When you meet your mentee, you won’t just give them advice. You'll make a positive impact supported by dedicated mentorship training. That means when your mentee achieves their goals, you’ll feel like you did too.
Our mentees meet their career match! By becoming a mentee, you’ll form a relationship with an investment professional who does more than help. When it comes to your career, your mentor will be in your corner. You'll lead the conversation, setting up meetings and sharing your goals to work towards them together. Mentoring also looks excellent on your CV, setting you up for future success.
The application process for mentorship opens twice a year, and demand is high! We let our members know by email when the window opens. During the process, you’ll have a call with us to discuss your aims and objectives, and they’ll find a mentor that matches you. You’ll meet them at our mentoring kick-off event.
The window for applications is currently closed - register your interest by emailing the Volunteer Team.
