Wednesday webinar at one: Taxonomies and their implications sustainable finance

Wednesday 06 April 2022 | 13:00 - 13:40 | Webinar

This event is the first of three in the climate investing  series, jointly organised by  Climate Bonds Initiative  and CFA UK

Over 20 jurisdictions around the world have developed or are developing green or sustainable finance taxonomies - regulatory guidance on what constitutes a green/sustainable investment. This includes the EU, UK, China and others.

The intention of this wave of taxonomies is to reduce greenwash in the market and provide credibility around what is called green, all leading to facilitating the flow of capital to investment aligned with the Paris agreement. The opportunity is huge but the reality is challenging – politics is complicated and definitions and approaches are not always aligned.

This session will discuss some of the recent developments on taxonomies, the implications of these and the challenges/opportunities ahead for the use of taxonomies as a tool to meet the Paris agreement and other environmental goals.

Where recordings are made, these are a member benefit that are accessed through the member-only platform, CFA UK Discover.
