Speakers

Kevin Gardiner, Global Investment Strategist, Rothschild & Co

Kevin joined Rothschild in August 2014. Previously, he was Chief Investment Officer (Europe) at Barclays Wealth Management.

Prior to joining Barclays in 2009, Kevin worked for a number of investment banks and the Bank of England in a City career spanning 30 years. In 1994, at Morgan Stanley, he wrote the Celtic Tiger report on the Irish economy. Ireland still has the strongest trend growth rate of any Western European economy.

Kevin was educated at the United World College of the Atlantic, the London School of Economics and Cambridge University. He was a Governor and Chair of the resources committee at Atlantic College for nine years. He has been a member of the Welsh Government’s Financial and Professional Services Sector Advisory Panel, and is currently a member of the advisory board for the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal. His book, Making Sense of Markets, was published by Palgrave Macmillan in August 2015.

Janet Mui, CFA, Investment Director, Brewin Dolphin

Janet is Investment Director at Brewin Dolphin and is a voting member of Brewin’s asset allocation committee. She is responsible for the commentary and communication of Brewin Dolphin's macro/investment views to clients and the media. She is a frequent guest on the BBC, Bloomberg and CNBC on macro discussions. Janet joins Brewin Dolphin from Cazenove Capital, the wealth management division of Schroders, where she was global economist within the investment strategy team.

Janet has a first-class degree in economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Cambridge University. She speaks Cantonese and is fluent in Mandarin. She is a CFA charter holder

Helen Thomas, CFA, CEO - BlondeMoney

Helen Thomas, CFA, who was appointed to the society board in 2016, chairs the society’s value of the investment profession sub-committee. She was previously chair of the continuing education and committee, founded the FX special interest group and is a member of the women’s network. 

Helen is currently CEO of her own company BlondeMoney, prior to which she was head of active discretionary currency at State Street Global Advisors. Before that, she was a partner at the global macro fund ABD Investment Management LLP.

Helen worked for thirteen years in foreign exchange at a number of investment banks, including Societe Generale and Merrill Lynch. She also spent time working in politics, as an advisor to George Osborne and as a Research Fellow at the think tank Policy Exchange.

Lindsey Stewart, CFA, Head of Stakeholder Engagement, Financial Reporting Council 

Lindsey Stewart, CFA is a leading investor and stakeholder engagement expert specialising in the key areas where financial analysis and public policy intersect. He is the Head of Stakeholder Engagement at the Financial Reporting Council – the UK’s regulator for corporate reporting, audit and governance – and was named as a Senior Leader Finalist at the 2021 Black British Business Awards.
