The market has exceeded $4T USD in terms of total issuance since the introduction of sustainable bonds with more than 60% of the market corresponding to green bonds. Significant sovereign deals are expected to lead to more than $500B USD of green bond proceedings in 2023. Continuous innovation in the green finance market has exposed investors to significant challenges in understanding the investment properties of green bonds.

Dr Apostolos Kourtis, Associate Professor in Finance and Head of the Finance Group at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia
Dr Apostolos Kourtis is Associate Professor in Finance and Head of the Finance Group at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia. He holds a doctorate from the Athens University of Economics and Business, an MSc in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the University of Oxford, and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Athens.
He has long experience in research and consulting in the UK, Greece and Cyprus. His current research interests lie in the areas of investments, risk management, green finance, financial technology and business analytics.
He has published papers in high-profile peer-reviewed journals while his research has been featured in several popular media outlets, including the Financial Times, Bloomberg and the Telegraph.
