Top tips for being effective in meetings

Thursday 20 April 2023 | 18:30 - 20:30 | Evening Event

This is an in-person networking and knowledge sharing opportunity, organised by CFA UK's Soft Skills working group.

In this talk, Carrie Swift, the founder of Love Public Speaking, joins us to share practical tips to help you improve your personal impact in meetings. She’ll offer guidance on presentation skills, how to speak with gravitas and how to get your message across in meetings – be it virtual or live meetings. This session will cover questions such as:

  • How can I get taken more seriously when I speak?
  • How can I improve my personal impact?
  • How do I get a word in when someone else is dominating the meeting?
  • How do I give an appropriate introduction on myself /my role at the beginning of the meeting?
  • What can I do if I get interrupted?

You’ll have the chance to put the techniques offered into to practice as you take part in speaking exercises in pairs.
