Wednesday webinar at one: How much of a 'Wild West' is Crypto?

Wednesday 12 January 2022 | 13:00 - 13:40 | Webinar

This session has been organised by CFA UK's Future of money working group

The rise of Digital Assets, DeFi and Cryptocurrencies in particular, has caused massive investment in this fast growing area of finance; but has sharply divided opinion in both the financial and regulatory community.

We invite Tom Keatinge, Founding Director of the Centre for Financial Crime and Security Studies (CFCS) at Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) to answer the following important questions:

  • What approach is the global regulatory response likely to take?
  • Will large sections of the Digital Assets industry ultimately be regulated away?
  • Could BitCoin even be banned?
  • Should investors draw comfort from the involvement of traditional firms or is it just Fear of Missing Out from the legacy incumbents?
  • What should Digital Asset investors & industry participants be concerned about?

Where recordings are made, these are a member benefit that are accessed through the member-only platform, CFA UK Discover.
