Wednesday webinar at one: Natural capital: A key investment opportunity

Wednesday 14 April 2021 | 13:00 - 13:40 | Webinar

We rely on nature directly and indirectly across multiple sectors. The linear, take-make-waste economic model is now dangerously depleting this most productive asset. However, powerful forces are now pushing for this outdated linear model to evolve into a new circular economy that is harnessing the power of nature whilst also preserving it, thus creating investment opportunities.

In this webinar brought to you by CFA UK's ESG working group, speakers Kristina Church and Alina Donets, CFA, will discuss the following:

  • What is natural capital and why is it so vital to our global economy?
  • Why does natural capital sit at the heart of the supply chains of major global sectors?
  • Which industries are at risk from the degradation of nature?
  • Opportunities in the transition to a leaner form of industry and investment in the bio-circular economy
  • The four key revolutions at the heart of the strategy: Circular bio-economy which unlocks innovation across water, food solutions and materials, harnessing the regenerative features of nature; Resources efficiency that targets leaner forms of production through dematerialization and materials performance; Outcome-oriented approach to consumption; and Zero waste world.
  • How to play the theme of natural capital in a high-conviction equity portfolio and the investment process used to drive stock selection

Where recordings are made, these are a member benefit that are accessed through the member-only platform, CFA UK Discover.
