CFA UK Mentoring Program is a 9 month program, running from April 2018 until December 2018, which will match mentees to a senior investment professional mentor in the investment industry. The programme will provide an environment for impartial advice from mentor to mentee and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience.
Mentors and mentees will need to commit to meeting face to face every two months and for monthly catch-ups via phone or email over the duration of the program. Although more frequent meetings or emails are actively encouraged; the more you put in, the more you will get out!
Matching will be carried out by the CFA UK Mentoring Committee who aim to match mentees with mentors who are best suited in terms of ability to achieve stated goals, industry experience and personality.
Priority will be given to mentees who:
- Fit the experience/career stage criteria (see Mentee role description for details)
- Have clear identified and achievable goals for the mentoring partnership
- Do not have an appropriate mentoring or buddy programme with their current company.
Training will be provided to both mentors and mentee’s at the start of the programme which will provide guidance on how to get the most out of the programme.
The deadline for applications is the 18th of March 2018. Please email email@example.com with specific interests or queries.
The mentor plays a fundamental role in our program and matching the correct mentor and mentee is one of our priorities.
We are looking for mentors with:
- 10 years + experience in a senior position within the Investment industry
- Commit to participate in one to one mentoring with contact at least monthly with face-to-face meetings with your Mentee at least every two months.
Although not a requirement as coaching will be provided, persons with managerial and/or previous formal or informal mentoring experience are encouraged to volunteer.
Mentors will benefit the mentees through sharing their experiences and successes through their career and providing an independent viewpoint. Mentors should benefit by receiving mentor training, networking opportunities with other senior volunteers and experiencing different industry viewpoints through conversations with mentees.
It is a great way for mentors to use their many years of experience to give back to the industry. Recognition of the time and commitment will be made through CFA UK volunteer recognition events and publicity within CFA UK materials.
