This webinar is part of CFA UK’s technology and innovation pathway and is brought to you by Technology & Innovation Community.
Large Language Models (LLMs) are increasingly used in financial research and decision-making but they’re not neutral. This session explores how biases emerge in LLMs, how they can affect investment analysis, and what safeguards investors can apply in practice.
The session will be led by Brian Pisaneschi, CFA, Senior Investment Data Scientist, CFA Institute, who will introduce the concept of bias in LLMs, outlining where it comes from, why it matters for investors, and how it can surface across investment workflows.
Brian will then be joined by James Tait, Research Data Scientist, CFA Institute, for a deeper-dive, hands-on case study demonstrating how bias can be investigated, measured and mitigated within a real investment-related task.
