Find answers to common questions about the Education System go-live, including key dates, support, and what to expect during the transition.

Why has CFA UK closed the Candidate Area?

Over the last two years, CFA UK has been going through a major digital transformation process to improve services for our members and candidates. We have now closed the CFA UK Candidate Area and moved all information into the main CFA UK Portal. Bringing together both these sites creates a one stop shop with a single sign in for all our candidates and members, allowing you to register for a qualification, schedule exams via Pearson, purchase membership, book onto events and manage your personal details.

Do I need to create a new account?

Yes, if you have do not have an existing portal account, you will need to create one.

You can create your Portal account here.

When creating your Portal account, please use the same email address connected with your previous CFA UK Candidate Area account.

Once you have created your Portal account, you will receive an automated email asking you to activate it.  Click on the link provided in the email to activate and your account creation will be complete.

Can I use a different email address for my Portal account?

In the first instance, you must create your Portal account using the same email address that was associated with your Candidate Area account. This will ensure your candidate records are automatically linked to your Portal account. If you subsequently wish to change your email address, you are able to do so through ‘My Account Settings’.

What if I do not receive my portal activation email?

Please check your junk or spam folder first. If you have not received an activation email after a reasonable period of time, please contact the CFA UK support team for assistance: support@cfauk.org.

Will my username and password from the Candidate Area work in the new Portal?

No. Your Candidate Area username and password will not work in the CFA UK Portal. You will need to create a new Portal account (see the FAQ above).

Please ensure that you use the same email address connected with your previous CFA UK Candidate Area account when creating your new Portal account.

I have a Candidate Account and a Portal account but I can’t see my Candidate information on the Portal. What do I do?

You should ensure that the email address you used for the CFA UK Portal is the same as that you have used for your Candidate Area. If this is not the case or you still can’t see your candidate information, please contact us at support@cfauk.org and please include the email address that you used to set up your Portal account.

For security reasons, please also provide two of the following pieces of information:

  • Full name
  • Candidate number
  • Date of birth
  • First line of address and postcode

We will investigate and get back in touch.

I have a Candidate account but can’t log into the CFA UK Portal. What do I do?

When first accessing the CFA UK Portal, you need to first set up a Portal Account. You should use the same email address as your Candidate account to set up your new Portal account. You will then be sent an activation email which you should activate. You will then be able to view your Candidate information on the CFA UK Portal

Will my exam history and qualification records be transferred to the new Portal?

Yes. Your existing candidate records, including qualification and exam information held by CFA UK, will be available through the new CFA UK Portal once your account has been linked successfully. In this first phase, this will be dated back to examinations / qualifications gained from 1 February 2018 onwards only.

Will I still be able to access my learning materials in the CFA UK Portal?

Yes.

What should I do if I am unable to see my exam history or learning materials after logging into the Portal?

First, check that you have registered your Portal account using the same email address associated with your Candidate Area account. If your exam history (for exams taken since 1 February 2018) is still not visible, please contact us  us at qualifications@cfauk.org and please include the email address that you used to set up your Portal account.

For security reasons, please also provide two of the following pieces of information:

  • Full name
  • Candidate number
  • Date of birth
  • First line of address and postcode

We will investigate and get back in touch.

Will there be any changes to how I schedule exams with Pearson?

The process for taking your exam with Pearson remains the same. However, access to Pearson scheduling will be through single sign-on via the CFA UK Portal. You should log into the Portal and click on the Pearson button. This will take you directly to Pearson services available to you without having to log in again.
