CFA UK Career development pathway Communicating in English when it isn't your first language

Thursday 29 October 2026 | 13:00 - 14:00 | Webinar

English is the working language of global finance, but it isn't everyone's first language. If you've ever felt that the version of you that's sharp, confident and quick-thinking in your own language doesn't always come through in English, particularly under pressure, this session is for you.

Kota Tamura draws on his experience as a communication coach, teacher and Chief of Staff to explore why this happens, even when your English is already excellent, and what can actually help.

This isn't a grammar lesson or a promise of quick fixes. It's an opportunity to better understand your own communication, with practical ideas to help you communicate with greater clarity, confidence and spontaneity.

Native English speakers are welcome too. There’s plenty here to help you understand what your colleagues may be experiencing.

Who is this aimed for:
This session is designed for finance professionals who use English in their day-to-day work and want to communicate with greater confidence, clarity and impact, particularly in high-pressure situations. It's ideal for non-native English speakers looking to better express their ideas and expertise, as well as native English speakers who want to better understand and collaborate with international colleagues.

Registration: 16:55 - 17:00
Programme: 17:00 - 18:00
