Edinburgh event: The future rise or fall of ESG investment

Tuesday 01 November 2022 | 18:30 - 20:30 | Evening Event

Please note, this is an in-person and knowledge sharing opportunity.

This event jointly organised by CFA UK, the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and the Global Ethical Finance Initiative will discuss the future of ESG investment and what industry participants are looking for.

The expert panel will analyse challenges to the integrity of ESG and sustainable investing that typically have been directed to policy makers, analysts, and investment companies. The question of disconnect will be raised between what investment clients want, what investment managers are focussed on, and what would have a genuine impact on society.

This will be an interactive session and open to questions from the audience, which will bring together investment consultants, investment managers, ethical finance experts, finance students and academic researchers to discuss what is needed to ensure ESG investing doesn’t become a vanity project with little added value.
