Research analysis skills pathway: How to present a stock idea effectively (2 of 3)

Wednesday 12 February 2025 | 13:00 - 13:50 | Webinar

This webinar is part of CFA UK's Sharpen your (research) analysis skills pathway

When you go for an interview as an investment analyst, you’ll almost certainly be asked to pitch a stock. Then once in the seat, it’s a regular occurrence.

Almost everyone gets plenty of practice in presenting these days, but a stock pitch is a particular type of presentation which usually requires an accompanying note, a series of slides and positive delivery.

Veteran analyst and founder of the Behind the Balance Sheet training consultancy Stephen Clapham, will explain what to include, what to leave out, and how to leave a lasting impression.

In this webinar learn:

  • Why there are only ever three reasons to buy or sell a stock
  • Why you may need to spend more time on what could go wrong than could go right
  • How to make your portfolio manager love your ideas
  • Why effective presenting can do as much for your bonus as getting the stock calls perfect.
