Impact: At the forefront of risk and return management

Wednesday 16 June 2021 | 18:00 - 19:00 | Webinar

This event has been organised by CFA UK's Impact Investing special interest group.

In this webinar, we invite a panel of experts to discuss the Impact Weighted Accounts Initiative (IWAI). The IWAI by Harvard Business School aims at driving the creation of financial accounts that fully reflect a company’s financial, social, and environmental performance. This event will explain how the initiative will help to incorporate external factors in financial reporting, quantifying impact and driving investor and managerial decision making.

Olivia Prentice, COO of Impact Management Project (IMP), will start by discussing the impact investing ecosystem, the scope of work and the soon to be launched system of standards by IMP. She will also discuss how impact could be monetized and what the global legislative outlook for impact is right now.

Rob Zochowski of Harvard Business School will talk through the IWAI, highlighting new insights into firm risks across both environmental and employment impact, and explain how investors and companies are putting the IWAI to use.

Finally, Tom Beagent, Director of sustainability at PWC, will answer: what does the impact reporting change from an auditing and accounting perspective?

This event will be moderated by Alicia Rubí, CFA, Partner of Attalea Partners.

Where recordings are made, these are a member benefit that are accessed through the member-only platform, CFA UK Discover.
