This webinar is brought to you by the CFA UK Private Markets Community.

Long-Term Asset Funds (LTAFs) were introduced to broaden access to private markets through a regulated, long-term investment vehicle designed for UK investors. While interest in LTAFs is growing, many allocators are still assessing whether they offer meaningful advantages over traditional private market structures.

This webinar will examine LTAFs from an allocator’s perspective, focusing on how they function in practice across portfolio construction, liquidity management, governance and operational oversight. Speakers will explore where LTAFs may genuinely add value and where investors should proceed with caution drawing on real-world allocation considerations rather than marketing narratives.

The session is designed to support investment professionals navigating private market access, manager selection and long-term capital deployment within evolving regulatory and liquidity frameworks.

What You’ll Learn

  • Understand how LTAFs are structured and how they differ from traditional limited partnerships and evergreen funds
  • Assess where LTAFs fit within long-term portfolio construction, including return objectives and risk trade-offs
  • Evaluate liquidity features, valuation mechanics and redemption constraints in practice
  • Identify key governance, due diligence and operational considerations for fiduciaries Recognise use cases where LTAFs may add value and scenarios where they may not be appropriate
  • Form an informed view on whether LTAFs are a strategic solution or a niche allocation tool

Who should attend?
This webinar is for CIOs, Deputy CIOs, heads of private markets / alternatives, institutional allocators (pension funds, insurers, endowments, foundations), multi-asset portfolio managers, investment committee members and trustees, wealth managers and discretionary fund managers assessing private market access, risk, governance and investment oversight professionals.
