Using Storytelling Techniques to Bring Data to Life

Wednesday 21 January 2026 | 13:00 - 14:00 | Webinar

Storytelling is the most sought-after communication skill of the moment. Nike has rebranded their executives as "Corporate Storytellers" and Microsoft has a "Chief Storyteller." Even the World Bank has recognised the limitations of charts, graphs and reports.

Why should this be relevant to us? Anyone who has sat through a tortuous presentation (surely all of us) has experienced the failure to tell a story. So one good reason to learn some storytelling techniques is to find a

way to keep our audience engaged when we are presenting. Secondly, there are the challenges of communicating clearly in the financial sector. We are surrounded by data, metrics and analysis. Being able to gather this information into a coherent story has been identified as one of the most important skills for career success.

This webinar covers:

  • What makes a great story?
  • Examples of great stories in presentations.
  • How to find your own stories including selecting the right stories for the right audience.
  • Structuring your story to have maximum impact.
