CFA UK’s Value Investing Special Interest Group would like to invite you to their annual stock slam event on Monday 17 June.

Join us for an interactive session where members have 5 minutes each to pitch their best current idea to the group, who then vote on the best pitch of the evening, followed by a 10 minute Q&A.

If you are interested in presenting an idea do get in touch.

This is a great opportunity for an evening of conversation and connection with fellow professionals who are passionate about Value Investing.

Members and non-members are welcome, but we ask that you pre-register.

Please note that drinks are at the attendees’ own cost.

Speakers 

Jelena Sokolova

Jelena has 13 years of professional investment experience. The first six of these were on the buyside where she covered European large caps as sector generalist for a Zurich based quality equity boutique. For the past seven years she has worked as a senior sell-side analyst at Morningstar covering the apparel and luxury sectors with a long time horizon and a focus on the durability of competitive advantages. Jelena is also involved in assessing competitive strengths in other industry sectors as part of an internal committee since and in running a model portfolio of high quality/undervalued European stocks. 

Phil Porat

Phil has 15 years of investment experience, over six of which have been in a professional capacity.  His experience spans M&A investment banking, pre-IPO private equity, and investment research at a long-short high yield credit hedge fund. Phil likes to find ideas that have an event-driven angle within a value context.

Alex Stuart

Alex started investing at the age of 18. He often focuses on small caps and has generate compound returns of over 25% over the past five years.

Tarjei Lode

Tarjei has experience working for NBIM, Morgan Stanley and DNB. He became interested in the stock market after stumbling upon Benjamin Graham’s work at the age of 19. He has an MSc in Finance from the University of Warwick and is currently an MBA Candidate at London Business School.
