From creating zero carbon buildings to securing green financing to incorporating global warming into the investment analysis - environmental requirements from governments and the global market are creating opportunities and posing threats to the established real estate sector.

This session will explore several aspects of the environment on real estate.

Simon Cox, First Vice President and Head of UK Project Management and sustainability officer, Prologis

Simon Cox is a First Vice President and Head of UK Project Management and sustainability officer at Prologis.He is also UK Sustainability Officer, directing strategy for sustainable development and overseeing the implementation of sustainable initiatives throughout the UK.

Simon has worked as a client-side project manager for over 20 years, procuring the delivery of a wide variety of complex developments. He began his career working on hotel, leisure and mixed use schemes before joining Prologis in 2006 and becoming a specialist in the development of industrial and distribution buildings. He is also UK Sustainability Officer, directing strategy for sustainable development and overseeing the implementation of sustainable initiatives throughout the UK.

Olivier Elamine, CEO, Alstria 

Olivier Elamine is one of the founding members of Alstria and became CEO of the Company in November 2006. Prior to the founding of Alstria, he was a Partner of NATIXIS Capital Partners Ltd. (NCP; formerly IXIS Capital Partners) from 2003 to 2006. Here he participated in more than EUR 6 billion of pan-European real estate transactions and led the acquisition of the Barmer and Stadt Hamburg portfolios.  

In 2003, Olivier Elamine joined the real estate investment banking team at CDC IXIS as a Director and was one of the founding members of NATIXIS Capital Partners Ltd.  

In 1998 Olivier Elamine joined Ernst & Young as a consultant in the real estate industry and from 2000 to 2003 he headed the sales & leaseback advisory team. From 1996 to 1998, he worked at the French embassy in Morocco.

Robbie Epsom, EMEA Head of ESG, CBRE Global Investors

Robbie Epsom is the EMEA Head of ESG and is part of the ESG team led by Helen Gurfel, Global Head of Sustainability & Innovation. He is responsible for the EMEA implementation of CBRE global investors’ sustainability vision, which continues the firm’s commitment to be a leader in ESG. Working closely with the ESG team and the wider CBRE global investors team his priority is the continued integration and harmonisation of ESG practices throughout the business.

Robbie joined the sustainability industry in 2009 and has experience in sustainability and ESG advisory consulting. He is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability (FICRS).

Robbie has a MEng (Hons) degree in chemical engineering along with a diploma in industrial -studies from Loughborough University and is a Board Director for the Institute of Corporate Responsibility Sustainability (ICRS)

Cristina Lacaci, Head of ESG structuring, Global Capital Markets, Morgan Stanley

Cristina Lacaci is Head of ESG Structuring in Global Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley, based in London. As part of her role, she has worked on the structuring of green and sustainability bonds for prominent issuers and led the structuring of Morgan Stanley’s inaugural social bond in October 2020. She leads Morgan Stanley’s ESG efforts in capital markets in EMEA, is part of Morgan Stanley’s ESG center of excellence for ESG advisory to corporate clients, and coordinates the ESG structuring efforts globally.

Cristina joined Morgan Stanley in 2005 and, prior to her current role, she held multiple functions in capital markets, starting in equity origination and then covering financial institutions and corporates in debt capital markets. Cristina holds a degree in business administration from University of Deusto in Spain.
