If you’re looking to take your exam at a test centre, find out what will happen on the day:
Arrive at the test centre at least 15 minutes before your test is scheduled to start. If you arrive after this time, you will not be admitted. Instead, you’ll have to re-register and pay the full exam fee again before you can schedule another exam sitting.
When you enter the test centre, proceed to the reception desk and present your ID. The test centre staff will let you know whether to wait in the seating area or head straight to one of the numbered computer terminals in the testing room.
When you enter the testing room, you will have a numbered desk with a computer terminal. Pearson VUE provide examinations for many awarding bodies, so candidates may be sitting alternative exams in the testing room with you.
There is an invigilation desk in the testing room, from which the invigilator has a clear line of sight to every desk and computer. Your computer will only display the exam for which you are registered.
Once you’ve completed your exam, follow the instructions on screen and leave the testing room. Go to the reception desk where the Test Centre Administrator will hand you a print out of your provisional examination results.
To schedule your exam, register for the exam you’d like to take. Once registered, you’ll need to wait two working days to view your exam availability. Once you register for your exam, you can take it anytime within the next 12 months – if you do not take the exam within 12 months, you’ll forfeit your registration fee. To book, search for your nearest test centre and select the best time for you.
Remember, if you require a reasonable adjustment this should be arranged with CFA UK in advance of scheduling your exam. Please see our Reasonable Adjustments Policy for further information.
If you want to reschedule or cancel your exam, you need to do so more than 72 hours ahead of your chosen exam date.
You will need to present ID on the day of your exam. Please refer to our FAQs for further information on ID requirements.
