Finalists announced for the 2019 CFA Research Challenge

The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis. Students work in teams to research and analyse a publicly traded company - then write and present a report with a buy, sell, or hold recommendation. This is the 12th year CFA UK has hosted a local Research Challenge event.

  

CFA UK is pleased to announce this year’s UK Research Challenge finalists, following entries from 12 universities, as:

  • Stirling University – Spirax - Sarco Engineering plc
  • Exeter University - McCarthy & Stone plc
  • Queens Marys University of London – Georgia Healthcare Group
  • Cranfield University – Aston Martin Lagonda plc

 

The 2019 UK Final

The finalists will join us at the UK Final at 5pm on Monday 4 March at CCT Venue, Canary Wharf, London. Register you free place

 

Whilst the judges are deliberating over the winner – there will be a presentation:

Investing in the future: Can investing well, change the world?

Nick Stansbury – Head of Commodity Research will speak on investment challenges of the energy transition (climate change) and detailing the social role that the investment industry plays in society.

 

The expert panel of charterholder judges are:

Brian Brosnan, CFA, Investment Analyst, Crystal Amber

Alexandra Jackson, CFA, Manager of UK Opportunities Fund

Nataliia Lipikhina, CFA, Equities Analyst, Mirabaud Securities LLP

Vishal Bhatia, CFA, Senior Fund Manager, JOHCM UK Growth Strategy

 

The winning team will be announced on the night and they will then progress to the EMEA Regional Final, to be held in Zurich, Switzerland on 10-11 April 2019.
