University of Stirling wins CFA UK Final Global Research Challenge

CFA UK announced today that Stirling Management School, University of Stirling has won the UK local competition of the CFA Institute Research Challenge and now advances to next stage of the competition.



The University of Stirling team is made up of:

  • Xinyl Yao (Sydney)
  • Ting Hu (Christy)
  • Kwabena Antwi Boasiako (Kobby)
  • Quynh Huong Nguyen (Jenny)

They were mentored by Jim Campbell, CFA, ACMA, ASIP.

The following universities competed with the University of Stirling at the UK final.

Cass Business School, City University London
Imperial College Business School, Imperial College London
SAID Business School, University of Oxford

Each university sent a team of three to five students to participate in the local challenge. The UK final was the first step for a local team to advance towards the global final in Chicago. The students from the University of Stirling will now travel to the first-ever 'super regional' where they will match their wits, analytical skills and presentation abilities against student teams from around the world.

All three regional competitions and the Global Final will take place the week of 11 April 2016 in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

The students presented their analysis and buy/sell/hold recommendations on Reckitt Benckiser Group plc – an LSE listed, FTSE 100, consumer goods company - to a panel of expert judges. Their presentation at the UK final was the culmination of months of research; interviews with company management, competitors, and clients; and presentation training.
