The mission of the CFA UK Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Network (DEI) is to improve the investment management profession by promoting inclusion, diversity and equity balance within the industry to serve the best interests of our increasingly diverse society. The DEI Network will do this by educating future and present network members and investment professionals; by promoting professional standards and best practice from members, employers and the investment industry; and by creating an inclusive platform to promote the development of members’ careers through networking and skills building.

Main responsibilities

The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Committee will support the mission with strategic objectives focused on three key areas: Education, Advisory and Network Engagement.


1. Education: Support emerging and ongoing educational needs to promote inclusion, diversity and equity excellence among current and future members & investment professionals

a. Design and deliver content and events on topical diversity issues to create a professional learning platform focused on diversity, equity and inclusion

b. Promote and reinforce learning of diverse, equitable and inclusive knowledge & behaviours for those within the Investment Profession

c. Create an educational gateway for diverse talent aiming to enter the investment industry


2. Advisory: Provide a neutral platform through which the CFA UK, members, employers and other investment industry participants can highlight, discuss, promote and encourage excellency and best practice of DEI.

a. Support the adaption and promotion of the CFA Institute Inclusion Code

b. Create and maintain forums to exchange best practices and support the implementation of diversity strategies for employers

c. Promote & amplify best practices and collaboratively advocate for increased diversity, inclusion and equity within the investment industry


3. Network Engagement: Create an inclusive platform for members to promote the development of their careers and facilitate networking within and across networks.

a. Provide opportunities for members to volunteer and contribute to delivering the I&DN strategy as well as their personal skills development
