Volunteer orientation sessions
We run monthly orientation sessions at our Mincing Lane office for all potential new volunteers. Run by experienced volunteers together with CFA UK staff, these sessions will help you find out more about current volunteer opportunities and what’s involved in volunteering. You’ll have the chance to meet other volunteers and learn about the vital role which volunteering plays in the society. We’ll send you an invitation to the next available session but don’t worry if you can’t make that date – you can attend one of our later sessions.
To see the dates for our forthcoming sessions, please consult our volunteer calendar (please note that times are displayed in GMT not British Summer Time!)
Volunteer quarterly meets
We know that our volunteers value being kept in the loop about what’s happening across the society. This session, run by CFA UK staff, provides volunteers with an opportunity to meet with the society’s chief executive Will Goodhart. You’ll have the chance to hear more about the society’s strategy and key initiatives and provide feedback. We’ll send you an invitation to each session.
We run quarterly workshops for our Ambassador network. This is a chance for you to come together with your fellow ambassadors and share best practice, to get updates from the Ambassador Council and staffed office, as well as providing you with a forum for discussion and debate. All ambassadors are expected to attend and will receive an invitation to each workshop well in advance.
Collaborate on Basecamp
Basecamp is a private, secure place online where you and your volunteer group can share project ideas, organise tasks and keep related documents and conversation threads all in one place. You can access Basecamp securely on your desktop, tablet or Smartphone (Android and IoS apps available), meaning you can keep up to date with your volunteer group(s) in between meetings. And if you prefer email, you can reply to Basecamp via any email app without the need to log in. We’ll set you up with Basecamp access and provide you with training to get you started.
You can keep up to date on what’s happening across the volunteer community through our quarterly volunteer newsletter. Read about the latest volunteer news and events, volunteer vacancies and appointments and much more.
