Stuart Hitchcock, Global Head of Portfolio Management
Stuart heads up Portfolio (Fund) Management for Legal & General Investment Management’s Private Credit business on a global basis. Stuart is responsible for overall management of the PM function, for both insurance and pension clients, with overall AUM in excess of £30 billion (equivalent). Stuart is a member of L&G Asset Management’s Senior Leadership Team and has been in the financial markets for over 24 years.
Stuart oversees and guides portfolio construction and portfolio performance and provides independent investment judgement on the underwriting of all new financings across Corporate, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Alternative debt asset classes. He leads setting overarching investment theses for mandates and helps to establish new funds/strategies.
Prior to L&G, Stuart was Managing Director and Head of International for New York Life Private Capital Investors, and before this a Director in NatWest Markets’ private debt capital markets business in both the UK and US.
Stuart has a PhD and BA from the University of Southampton. He also holds an MSt from the University of Oxford, Executive MBA (Distinction, Directors’ Award) from the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School and FCT from the Association of Corporate of Treasurers. As non-executive, he is a co-opted member of finance committee at a UK university, and Board member of a financial company.
