Regular membership is available to individuals who have at least four years of relevant work experience and have achieved CFA Level I (or passed the self-administered Standards of Practice examination).

Regular membership equips you with practical benefits to help you stay ahead in the investment profession and connect with like-minded peers. 

Membership fees

Our membership year is 01 July to 30 June. You pay your CFA UK fee at the same time that you pay your CFA Institute's membership fee in US dollars via your CFA Institute account

The current annual membership fees are:

 Total $464.00  $182.50 

Irrespective of your date of renewal, the full rate for the year is still applicable.

Eligibility

Applications for regular membership are administered by CFA Institute. Based on your qualifications, CFA Institute will assign you with one of two types of regular membership.

To become a regular member you must:

  • Have at least 4,000 hours of acceptable professional work experience (completed in a minimum of 36 months) 
  • Have passed CFA Program Level I exam or the Standards of Practice examination
  • Agree to adhere to and sign the members' agreement and professional conduct statement
  • Provide three professional references, unless you have a reference from an active CFA UK regular member – in which case, only two professional references are required.

To become a regular CFA Charterholder member (required to receive your charter) you must:

  • Have at least 4,000 hours of acceptable professional work experience (completed in a minimum of 36 months) 
  • Have passed CFA Program Level I, Level II, Level III exams
  • Agree to adhere to and sign the members' agreement and professional conduct statement
  • Provide three professional references, unless you have a reference from an active CFA UK regular member – in which case, only two professional references are required.
